Mad Heaven
Peter Eldridge ’82, Mad Heaven (Palmetto, 2011)
Peter Eldridge’s fourth solo album, Mad Heaven, is a sophisticated collection of mostly original songs that mix modern jazz with Brazilian influences and a dash of R&B. His longtime admiration for Brazilian and Latin music in general is apparent throughout the dynamic new disc. Eldridge is a pianist/vocalist who is best known for his continuing role in New York Voices, a vocal group he cofounded with Darmon Meader, that has recorded six studio albums, made numerous guest appearances, and toured internationally for more than a decade.
