Second Place Photography: "School House Blues"

by Keri Friedman ’98

Keri Friedman ’98 is a photographer living in Portland, Oregon. By day she works for Lensbaby, which she calls “one of the coolest photographic companies around.” All other times she is seeing and shooting with either her digital SLR, old film cameras, or camera phone.

"This one-room school house in rural Oregon has been abandoned for several decades," writes Keri. "I am drawn to abandoned structures out of a desire to capture the memory of a place before it is gone, along with the strange beauty that can come from neglect."

Keri also received honorable mention for her photograph, Falling.
