Second Place Fine Art: "Woman of Introspection"
by Jessica Guido ’11
Jessica Guido ’11 says her art “embodies the strength, emotion, and character that constructs a real woman. Body language and poise begin to fade behind the windows of technology; it is the role of fine art to recapture this beauty.”
About the subject of this piece, she writes: "She sits on the edge of her chair, her body erect and poised, listening to the rumbles and waves of our rustic world. The strength of the shadows is defeated by the purity of her skin. Her face, serene, does not understand why the follies of society must linger on through our numbered days."
