Discus Thrower Wins National Championship
Sophomore Brandy Smith ’17 won the national championship in the discus this past spring at the 2015 NCAA Division III outdoor track and field championships. She is the first-ever outdoor track and field national champion in school history and the fourth overall women’s track and field student–athlete to win a national title. Smith topped the field with a career-best and stadium record throw of 53 meters. Smith is the 23rd individual national champion in school history.
