First Place Photography: "An Italian Perspective"

by Kathryn Cooper '06

The outdoors is one of my favorite things to photograph, and when I was in Italy not long ago, I saw this opportunity and had time to snap just one shot. While on the serpentine roads of the Amalfi coast, our bus came to a stop and I saw the beautiful composition for a picture. I hesitated, then reached into my camera bag and took this picture by framing half the quaint, rusting house, and half the blue ocean surrounding it. I didn’t edit it at all. I’m so glad the photo came out, because it’s the only one I was able to get before we started again on our trip!
