School of Business: M.B.A. Program Ranks High
Ithaca College's master of business administration is featured in the Princeton Review's 2007 edition of The Best 282 Business Schools.
Ithaca College is home to one of the nation’s outstanding business schools. That’s what the Princeton Review has to say in its 2007 edition of The Best 282 Business Schools, in which the master of business administration program is featured. The book has two-page profiles of each school, with write-ups and ratings on academics, student life, admissions, selectivity, and career placement services.
Robert Franek, vice president of publishing for PR, says the selections for the book were based upon “their academic programs and offerings, institutional data, and the candid opinions of students attending them who report on their campus experiences. We are pleased to recommend the Ithaca College School of Business as one of the best institutions to attend to earn an M.B.A..”
Dean Susan West Engelkemeyer is delighted that the school had attained its first-ever profile in the guidebook. While PR does not rank the schools on a single hierarchical list from 1 to 282, the book does feature top 10 rankings in various categories. “Our ranking of 6 in the ‘best administered’ category is a tribute to professor and M.B.A. program director Donald Eckrich and M.B.A. program assistant Wendy Fonder,” says Engelkemeyer, who of course also deserves some of the credit.
This is a particularly appropriate time for the School of Business to earn this recognition—with the new sustainable building under construction and business students being recognized for their work. Four of the seven winning places in the 2006 national scholar competition sponsored by the Sigma Iota Epsilon management honorary society were filled by IC business students.
