The Media Literacy Summer Institutes
July 14-18, repeated August 4-8, 2003
These are week-long intensive workshops on integrating media literacy into classroom curricula at all grade levels and subject areas. Mornings are devoted to learning the theory and practice of media literacy and in the afternoons participants learn how to use technology (such as digital video, Powerpoint, and the Internet) to integrate media production into their curricula.
All participants will develop a media literacy integration project to implement in their classroom and present at a symposium during the upcoming academic year. Open to K-12 teachers and support staff, college faculty members, and community educators. A limited number of slots are available at no cost for Ithaca College faculty. The first Institute is .
Literacy in a Media Age

This dynamic conference on integrating media literacy into K-12 education will include keynote speakers and breakout sessions to address the particular needs and interests of different groups. It is aimed at school administrators, technology/media specialists, librarians, and curriculum and department chairs; teacher education faculty and students; and community educators who work with K-12 education.
