10:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. (Includes a break for "Day of Learning" lunch)
This four-hour course will include such topics as
- approaching an injured animal
- stopping bleeding, splinting broken bones, and treating for poison
- safely transporting an injured pet
- putting together a pet first aid kit
- how to have a healthy and happy pet
We are excited to be able to offer this program as part of the "Day of Learning". Our instructor is Tarry Hilliard, health and safety director with the American Red Cross. The program content is based on the book, Pet First Aid, written by Dr. Bobbie Mammato, who earned her degree from the College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University and received a masters in public health from Johns Hopkins University.
Each participant will receive American Red Cross Card for Pet First Aid after completion of the program along with a handbook.
