Emerson Suites Audio Upgrades Complete

The Office of Conference and Event Services is pleased to announce the completion of the renovations to the audio system in the Emerson Suites. We are confident that you will notice improved audio services in the Emerson Suites once our student staff have returned and are fully trained on the new equipment.
In the meantime, we would like to take this opportunity to clarify the audio and visual services that are provided by the Office of Conference and Event Services. As you are aware, student Audio/Visual Technicians provide the majority of our AV services. We have developed a list of services that all of our students should be able to provide after training. These standard services are:
1. PowerPoint slide show projection and full audio support. Technicians are not trained to
troubleshoot software and/or hardware problems with laptop computers.
2. Video projection support for 1/2-inch VHS and 16mm film (in facilities with 16mm
projectors).
3. DVD projection support including full audio support.
4. House sound support in the Emerson Suites, including up to 4 microphones.
5. Event sound support using portable sound systems and including up to 2 microphones
and 1 CD player.
6. House sound support in the coffee house including up to 2 microphones, 2 monitors, 2
auxiliary speakers, and 1 CD player.
7. Non-colored stage wash lighting, using house lights in the Emerson Suites and
coffee house.
8. Colored dance floor lighting in the Emerson Suites and coffee house.
All services are dependent on the availability of staff and the existing equipment inventory.
Many additional services are available with consultation from professional staff in the Office of Conference and Event Services.
