Quilters' Dream -- an intergenerational quilting group composed of Ithaca College students, faculty, and staff as well as staff and residents of Longview and other community members -- will hold their annual quilt show at Longview on October 3 and 4.
The showings will take place in the Ithaca College classroom, located on the second floor of Longview, on Friday, October 3, from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m., and Saturday, October 4, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The events are free and open to the public.
There will also be a raffle of a handmade quilt. Tickets are $2 each, or three for $5.
Founded by Carol John, an assistant professor of occupational therapy at the College, Quilters' Dream meets weekly at Longview. "The group welcomes Longview residents as well as people from Ithaca College and the surrounding community into an environment that encourages growth and artistic expression," John says. "We like to see people of different ages and quilting levels gathering to enjoy quiltmaking and each other's company. Our older members offer a wealth of quilting experience to many of our beginning quilters."
