Yom Kippur is the holiest day of the year in the Jewish faith. On this day all of the Jewish people are united in directing their hearts and thoughts to G-d and atoning for sins against G-d.
A kosher pre-Yom Kippur Fast dinner will be served at Terrace Dining from 5:00-6:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 5. Kol Nidre, the opening service, will begin promptly at 6:15 p.m. in the Emerson Suites. Yom Kippur Day, Monday, October 6, will be in Muller Chapel. Services begin at 10:00 a.m. There will be a three-hour break from 2:00 until 5:00 p.m.. During the break there will be quiet time for meditation at 3:00 p.m.. The service will reconvene at 5:00 p.m. and the shofar will be blown at 7:15 p.m., to signify the end of the fast.
