Do you know an alumnus, alumna, or friend of Ithaca College whose professional and volunteer accomplishments deserve to be recognized by the Ithaca College Alumni Association?

The board of directors will meet soon to review nominations for the following prestigious awards and would like to have as much input from the Ithaca Community as possible.

If you have someone in mind for the following awards, please nominate them online by December 15 at Alumni Association Awards.

The Distinguished Alumni Award
This award is presented to a graduate who has demonstrated outstanding loyalty and service to Ithaca College over the years. This is the highest alumni achievement award the alumni association presents.

The Lifetime Achievement Award
This is presented to a graduate who has achieved exceptional success in his or her profession, or who has contributed significantly to the advancement and leadership of noteworthy civic, philanthropic, and service organizations over the course of many years. This lifelong success has brought significant recognition to the recipient and has set a standard of excellence to which others may aspire.

The Outstanding Young Alumni Award
This award is presented to a recent (within the last 2 to 10 years) graduate who excels in his or her profession. Recipients have all been recognized as emerging leaders in their fields and represent excellence in the areas of business, musical performance, broadcast journalism, communications, and chemistry, to name just a few.

The James J. Whalen Meritorious Service Award
This award recognizes distinguished achievements and contributions to Ithaca College by a non-graduate through professional, civic, and philanthropic activities. All recipients have had a significant connection to Ithaca College, such as membership on the board of trustees; longtime past service to the College as a member of the staff, faculty, or administration; or volunteer work on behalf of the College.

Volunteer Service Award
This award is given to alumni and non-alumni who have contributed significantly to one or more of the following areas: admission, career services, student affairs, clubs, fund raising, and athletics. In addition, faculty and administrators may nominate those who have made outstanding efforts on behalf of a particular department, program, or school.
