Peer Career Adviser Applications Now Being Accepted

The Office of Career Services is now accepting applications for 2004-2005 Peer Career Advisers (PCA). These paraprofessional staff assists other students on a range of career issues and also contributes to major office programs and events.
College faculty and staff are asked to invite interested students to apply. Criteria are as follows:
QUALIFICATIONS
A willingness to work with peers in a fast-paced environment
An interest in having fun while working with others
Interest in career issues and learning about the career development process
Being flexible, dedicated, creative, and having a sense of humor
Open to ANY current first year, sophomore, or junior student from ANY major
BENEFITS OF BECOMING A PCA
Develop marketable communication and interpersonal skills
Learn how to create and critique resumes and cover letters
Work directly with recruiters and potential employers
Improve one's own resume and professional development plan
Make great friendships and have lots of fun
REQUIREMENTS
Volunteer service of six hours per week
Participation in fall training and weekly staff meetings
Knowledge of Career Services programs and events is NOT required as we provide a comprehensive training program for our PCAs.
To apply, applications and information sheets are now available in Career Services, 1101 Gannett Center, or can be downloaded from the Career Services web site.
Deadline to apply: 5:00 p.m. on Friday, February 13
