The Office of Multicultural Affairs invites Ithaca College community members to nominate an Ithaca College ALANA (African American, Latino/a, Asian, or Native American) student to be considered for the 2004–2005 Rashad G. Richardson "I Can Achieve" Memorial Scholarship.

This merit scholarship is intended to recognize a high-achieving male or female student representing the ALANA community. The student receiving this scholarship will have made significant contributions toward improving the quality of life for ALANA youth in the Tompkins County community. In the event that the recipient of this award is receiving need-based loans, the award will be utilized to reduce loan indebtedness.

Students nominated for this scholarship should be ALANA students entering the sophomore, junior, or senior year who are in good academic and judicial standing with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better, and who have demonstrated a record of community service with city or county youth programs.

You may access and print the nomination form and more details about the scholarship at the OMA website. Nomination forms are also available at the OMA Administration Office, 324 Egbert Hall, or in OMA Student Services, 101 Towers Concourse. Please contact Kate Brown at 274-1692 for further information. Nominations are due Monday, February 23, 2004, in either OMA office.

Additional gifts of scholarship support are always welcome. Should you wish to support these funds and the mission of the Office of Multicultural Affairs, while remembering Rashad and honoring the life of this young man, please direct your gift to the Office of Special Programs, Alumni Hall, Ithaca College. Be sure to designate which fund you would like to support. All gifts are promptly acknowledged with a letter and a receipt. Please contact Elayne Nicholas, associate director of special programs, at 274-1286 for further information.
