If you know of a student who is considering an unpaid internship in the Washington, D.C., area this summer, there is a scholarship that may help with costs.

The Washington, D.C., Scholarship for Unpaid Summer Internships is available to students who are eligible for financial aid and in good academic and judicial standing with a 3.0 GPA or better. The internship may be credit bearing or not credit bearing.

Thanks to the generosity of several D.C. area alumni, this scholarship was established to help defray the costs of an unpaid summer internship. Applications for this award are available at the dean's offices of the individual schools and at the Office of Career Services. Students should just ask for the Washington, D.C., Scholarship for Unpaid Summer Internships details and application.

The deadline for application is March 15, 2004. Students will be required to present a letter on company letterhead to the director of financial aid, verifying the summer unpaid internship arrangement.
