The Ithaca College Chorus and Concert Band will give a free concert on Tuesday, March 2. The event will begin at 8:15 p.m. in Ford Hall in the James J. Whalen Center for Music.
Professor of music education Janet Galván will conduct the chorus in Mozart's Missa Brevis, K. 192. This bright and cheerful work from the composer's youth features an unusual setting of the "Credo" section. Keith Kaiser, assistant professor and chair of the music education department, will conduct the band in performances of works by Puccini, Ewazen, and Dohnanyi.
The Ithaca College School of Music offers some 300 free concerts each academic year. More information on these performances is available by calling (607) 274-3356 or visiting the concert calendar at www.ithaca.edu/concerts.
