Aspects of Love, a free faculty recital by soprano Deborah Montgomery-Cove and pianist Charis Dimaras, will take place at Ithaca College on Sunday, March 21. The performance will begin at 4:00 p.m. in the Hockett Family Recital Hall in the Whalen Center.
The program will include music composed by Bach for his wife, Anna Magdalena; selected songs by Schubert; Rossini's Una voce poco fa; Turina's Triptico; and Kirke Mechem's Absent Love.
Montgomery-Cove's voice is well known by music lovers in Ithaca and has been heard performing locally with the Ithaca Opera Association and the Cayuga Chamber Orchestra. Montgomery-Cove has achieved national recognition through performances including her Carnegie Hall debut in Mendelssohn's Elijah and solo recital performance at the Liederkranz Foundation in New York. Prior to teaching at Ithaca College, she taught at Appalachian State University, the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, And Northern Michigan University.
Dimaras has frequently performed as soloist with orchestras as well as in solo and chamber music concerts throughout Europe and the United States. He has appeared with the Greek National Symphony Orchestra, Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra, and MAV Hungarian Symphony Orchestra.
