The Ithaca College Jewish Studies Program invites you to apply for funding in support of your teaching and research in any area related to Jewish history or culture -- broadly defined to include all academic disciplines.

We especially encourage studies and projects that

  • cross disciplinary boundaries
  • illuminate Jewish cultural diversity
  • investigate historical and contemporary encounters and relationships between Jews and other cultural groups
  • Curriculum development might include the creation of a new course focused on a topic related to Jewish studies, or it might involve the introduction or enhancement of Jewish-related content in appropriate courses or in the curriculum as a whole.

Support is available for ongoing research projects or for the initiation of new ones.

These grants should be seen as supplements to financial support already available through faculty travel allowances and grants for research and curriculum development (see the Faculty Resource Guide for details).

Suggested categories for which you might ask support: Applications are welcome from any interested faculty and staff member.

For further information, or to request an application form, contact Rebecca Lesses of the Jewish Studies program, 274-3556, Gannett 122. Completed applications should be mailed to Gannett 122.

Applications will be reviewed by the Jewish studies steering committee on a rolling basis. Candidates will be informed of the results as soon as decisions are made.

We invite all interested faculty and staff to join us in contributing to a curriculum and a scholarly community at IC that accepts, reflects, and celebrates cultural diversity.
