The Ithaca College Concert and Symphonic Bands will give their last concerts of the year in late April.

Both performances are free and will take place at 8:15 p.m. in Ford Hall in the Whalen Center. The symphonic band, conducted by Henry Neubert, will play on Wednesday, April 28; the concert band, under the baton of Keith Kaiser, will perform on Thursday, April 29.

Professor emerita and longtime friend of the School of Music Shirley Hockett will be the guest narrator for the symphonic band's performance of Paul Siskind's The Perilous Adventures of Comet, the Wonderdog. Based on the misadventures of an actual dog, Siskind's work musically depicts squirrel chasing, obedience school graduation, and other canine exploits. Also on the program will be the music of Rudi, Horovitz, Camphouse, and Holst.

The concert band's program will include a fanfare by Jack Stamp, a wedding dance by Jacques Press, an Italian polka by Rachmaninoff, an English waltz by Grainger, and Giannini's third symphony.
