We have openings for additional usher volunteers for the upcoming Commencement ceremony.
On Sunday, May 16, Ithaca College's 109th Commencement exercises will be held. Many of us have had daily contact with the fine young men and women of the 2004 graduation class, and have played an important role in their experience at Ithaca College.
As you are aware, ushers are vital to the success of Commencement since many guests are not familiar with the College, its buildings, and their location. The usher's duties vary according to the specific assignment. Program distribution, guest seating, student seating, answering questions, giving directions, and helping people are all things that you could be called upon to do to help maintain a dignified and orderly ceremony.
If you are willing to help by working as an usher please email Mary Anne Steinmetz. Non-exempt employees who assist in these events will be reimbursed according to the College overtime policy directly by the Office of Student Affairs and Campus Life.
Your help is very much appreciated,
Rory Rothman, associate vice president for student affairs and campus life
