Vernon Burton will be presenting the opening keynote address for the Technology in the Humanities Conference on Monday, May 24.
The title of his talk is "Keeping Up with the e-Joneses: Humanities and Information Technology: Two worlds in need of each other?"
Burton is professor of history and sociology, and professor and senior research scientist at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
The keynote address will begin at 9:15 a.m. and is open to all. Registration for the entire conference (all sessions and meals) can be made at Technology in the Humanities.
