A feature piece by WICB's co-news director Karl Palsgaard '06 won a first place award for broadcast excellence in the 2003 competition sponsored by the New York State Associated Press Broadcasters Association.
Winners were announced Saturday night in Lake Placid at the annual NYSAPBA banquet.
The two-minute feature, "The Sounds of Science," literally walked listeners through the sound exhibit at Ithaca's Sciencenter.
WICB was competing with commercial and noncommercial stations in small markets in New York State such as Elmira, Watertown, Oswego, and Kingston.
Karl is a Park Scholar from Bishop, Ga.
