The class of 2004 is supporting the creation of a special gathering place that communicates Ithaca College's history and traditions, captures the spirit of the student body, and reflects the breadth of experiences of the entire College community.
In September, the senior class voted to designate its class gift to assist with the renovation of the Food Court seating area in the Campus Center as the place where Ithaca College memories can be displayed and enjoyed by all. The dramatic design plan for the space involves an open and welcoming environment that also serves as a historical experience. The class has chosen "IC Square" as the name for its gift.
We now need your assistance. We are seeking memorabilia that represent all aspects of student life here at Ithaca College. Items might include pictures, clothing (clean only, please!), written material, sports equipment, musical instruments, and any other artifacts that represent the variety of student groups and organizations and the richness of student social and academic experiences that are part of the College's history.
Before we can make decisions about what and how things are displayed, we need to have a sense of the items that are available to us. If you have something that you think would be appropriate, please contact Lynne Pierce, 607-274-1155. The review committee will review all donations and make final decisions about placement in the display.
Ithaca College has a story to tell and lots of memories to share with faculty, staff, students and their families, potential students, and visitors. Thanks to the class of 2004, we will soon have a welcoming, beautiful place in which to present our history.
