IC was well represented by several faculty and students who traveled to Chicago for the American Physical Therapy Association Annual Conference, held at the McCormick Center from June 30 to July 3.
Charles Ciccone, as a member of the editorial board of the journal Physical Therapy, took part in a panel discussion on contributing to the physical therapy evidence base. He also gave a talk to clinicians on finding evidence in the literature.
Joseph Kelley, a current PT graduate student, gave a poster presentation of his senior year independent study project titled "Comparison of Two Static Assessments of Foot Pronation in a Sample with ACL Rupture and Reconstruction.
Karen Nolan, a Rochester center faculty member, with assistance from recent graduates Beth Arnold and Jill VanBrunt, gave a poster presentation on "Effects of Variable Hip Abduction Orthosis on Function in a Child with Cerebral Palsy.
Michael Pagliarulo took part in the APTA House of Delegates meeting held before the conference as a representative from the New York Physical Therapy Association.
This a major national educational and professional conference for the physical therapy field and was attended by several thousand educators and clinicians.
