Room Reservation System Update

Please be advised that room reservation requests since the start of the academic year have arrived at an unprecedented pace.

Through Monday, September 14, an average of 50 reservations a day are being received by the Office of Conference and Event Services. The volume of requests is always higher at the start of each semester, but the length of time for the high number of requests is very unusual. In addition, the new campus wide room scheduling software package went "live" for special events reservations on September 1. While the new system is far more powerful than the old, the migration to the new software is not without challenges.

As a result, the normal target of a 48 business hour turn around for room reservation responses has been temporarily increased to a 72 hours. On days when volume is especially high, even this target may be slightly longer.

Kris Shields, the scheduling coordinator, and her two student employees are working extra hours to process and respond to all room reservation requests. In the meantime, if you need to call to check on the status of a room reservation please contact the Office of Conference and Event Services at 274-3313. A full-time staff member will be assigned to assist you (allowing Kris to continue to process reservations).

If you have a true emergency request, please contact the office at 274-3313 and a full-time staff member will attempt to assist you and/or determine if Kris needs to respond.

We certainly hope to have worked through the initial rush of reservations within the next week to 10 days. Thank you in advance for your patience as we work through this difficult, heavy volume, period of time.
