David Pacun, assistant professor of music theory, recently published two articles.
"Scanning Bass Patterns: A Middleground Path to Analysis," appears in the Journal of Music Theory Pedagogy; and "Brahms and the Sense of Ending" appears in The American Brahms Society Newsletter.
In November, Professor Pacun will present a paper on Brahms's Haydn Variations, opus 56, at the joint meeting of the Society for Music Theory and the American Musicological Society in Seattle.
