The Ithaca College Department of Modern Languages and Literatures is pleased to announce its new B.A. program in Italian Studies, offered in addition to the existing minor in Italian.
The program has been approved and registered with New York State, and students may now sign up for the Italian studies major.
This major allows students to specialize in Italian language, literature, and culture while the program's flexibility provides the opportunity to incorporate interdisciplinary interests if desired.
The Italian section of DMLL will be offering several new courses. Students may also include up to 12 credits of (approved) courses related to Italian language or culture offered by other departments. The list of approved courses will be available in the DMLL office.
For spring 2005, the Italian section of DMLL will offer: Parliamo! Italian Conversation II and Inferno to Infinity: Italian Literature in Translation. Next year, four additional upper-level Italian courses will be offered, including: The Italian Americans, Practice in Reading and Writing in Italian, and Italian Culture through Cinema. Please spread the word!
