School of Health Sciences and Human Performance, Eagle Broadcasting, and Ithaca College's Conference and Events Services, are pleased to announce that Richard Simmons, the well-known, television personality and exercise leader, will be returning to the Ithaca College campus for their cosponsored fall 2005 Health Expo on Saturday, September 17.
The October 2004 Health Expo was a tremendous success bringing over 650 visitors to the IC campus Hill Center. Richard Simmons engaged our visitors, students, faculty, and staff in an hour and a half- long entertaining exercise session "sweating the oldies" and a "meet and greet" session. Over 50 vendors from a variety of local businesses participated. We expect next year to be larger based on more participants and vendors.
Currently, there is a proposal to begin a pre-Health Expo event in June 2005 and continue to September. People (adults and children) from the greater Ithaca community would come to IC for fitness and nutrition evaluations to help them start to lose weight. Eagle Broadcasting may be running a radio contest for these participants.
