A $10,088 National Science Foundation-RUI supplement has been awarded for Susan's summer project entitled Collaborative: Evolution of Host Use by Blepharoneura (Diptera: Tephritidae) on Guraniinae (Cucurbitaceae) Plants.
This grant will allow her to supervise two summer research students during 2005. These students will be involved in ongoing research on evolutionary studies of Gurania (plant in the pumpkin family) and the flies that feed on them. The work is in collaboration with her colleague Marty Condon of Cornell College in Iowa.
