This event is cosponsored by the Office of the Provost, the African-Latino Society, Small Group Communications, and the Park School.
At this event, participants will learn more about the Emmett Till case, and how the racially-motivated murder of this 14-year-old African American youth in 1955 helped galvanize the Civil Rights movement. In 2004, the U.S. Department of Justice reopened an investigation into the Till case.
Beyond looking only at the past, Williams, supported by powerful photodocumentary presentations, will explore the root causes of racial discrimination and the remnants of it that linger to this day, even on the Ithaca College campus.
