The Jewish Studies Program at Ithaca College presents Thane Rosenbaum on "The Myth of Moral Justice: A View from the Second Generation" on Wednesday, March 30, at 7:30 p.m. in Muller Chapel.

Thane Rosenbaum is professor of law at Fordham University and a novelist. His latest book, The Myth of Moral Justice: Why Our Legal System Fails to Do What's Right, addresses complex philosophical issues about the longing for moral justice, including post-Holocaust issues represented in the Nuremberg Tribunal and restitution payments.

Rosenbaum is also the author of the award-winning novels The Golems of Gotham, Second Hand Smoke, and Elijah Visible. As the only child of Holocaust survivors who died when he was young, he brings to these novels and to his philosophical writing his own particular "second generation" perspective.

The lecture is cosponsored by the legal studies program, and the Departments of Politics and English.
