Balancing Risk and Rewards, April 14

On Thursday, April 14, the School of Business is proud to sponsor a panel discussion with alumnus Lee Bird '86, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Gap North America and Bob Reynolds, vice chairman and chief operating officer of Fidelity Investments. Each will present his take on risk and rewards in the corporate world, after which Dean Engelkemeyer will moderate an open question and answer period. The event will take place in the Emerson Suites from 7:00 to 8:30 pm.

Lee Bird joined the company in May 2001 as senior vice president for Old Navy finance and real estate. In August 2001, he added the store operations organization, and in March 2002, distribution was added to his reporting structure. He was promoted to executive vice president at Old Navy in March 2003, and appointed to EVP/COO at Gap U.S. in April 2003. Prior to joining Gap Inc., Lee held executive roles in finance, operations and strategy at Gateway Inc., AlliedSignal, and Ford Motor Company.


Robert L. Reynolds is also the head of the Fidelity Management Committee and a member of the board of directors of FMR Corp. In addition, he serves as a trustee for the Fidelity family of mutual funds and serves on the board of Fidelity Investments Canada Limited. Prior to being named to this position in June 2000, Reynolds was president of Fidelity Investments Institutional Retirement Group; He was named to that position in 1996.
