This year's Ad Lab Team, comprised of senior communications and business majors, won the American Advertising Federation's regional student advertising competition in New York City on Friday, April 29. They will compete at the national competition in Nashville, Tenn. in June.
Each year, AAF sponsors a national student advertising competition. According to the AAF website, the competition "provides more than 3,000 college students with 'real-world' experience by requiring a strategic advertising/marketing/media campaign for a corporate sponsor. Sixteen schools are selected to present their campaigns to a panel of industry executives at the AAF National Conference."
This year, the students were asked to develop a $10 million national communications plan for Yahoo! targeting 13 to 17 year olds.
Ithaca College received first place followed by Pace, Syracuse, George Washington, and St. John's rounding out the top five in the regional competition.
Congrats to the Ad Lab Team and Associate Professor Scott Hamula!
