Calling hours will be held in suburban Philadelphia on Tuesday, July 26, for friends to pay their respects to the family of Ithaca College student Kimberly Chu, who passed away unexpectedly on campus last Friday. The calling hours will be held from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Jacob F. Ruth Funeral Directors, 8413 Germantown Road, Chestnut Hill, PA (215-247-9090).
A memorial service will also be held on Tuesday, at 7:00 p.m. at Germantown Friends School, 31 West Coulter St., Philadelphia, PA (215-951-2300). The College has made arrangements for bus transportation from campus to the service; anyone interested in traveling on the bus is asked to contact the Office of Student Affairs and Campus Life at 274-3374 by 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The bus will depart for the service at 1:00 p.m. from U lot in front of the Campus Center.
A graduate of Germantown Friends School, Kim was a sociology major at the College and had been working this summer as a building manager in the Campus Center. An on-campus memorial service to celebrate Kim’s life will be planned for when students return to campus in the fall. Details will be announced once these plans are finalized.
