Biology Faculty and Students, Nancy Jacobson, Lisa Seltzer ('06) , Jackie Scahill ('07); and other IC faculty, Jack VanDerzee, Keri Lee, and Ron Schassburger were awarded a grant by NSF through SENCER.
The grant allowed them to participate in the SENCER Summer Institute in San José, CA. This activity was part of an initiative to disseminate the SENCER model of teaching science to nonmajor undergraduate students through large, unresolved civic issues. The Ithaca College team worked on four Ithaca Seminar courses.
