It is the mission of the Office of Multicultural Affairs (OMA) to create a supportive, inclusive environment on campus, producing graduates who are culturally competent citizens, agents for social change, and leaders in a global society. OMA works to deliver programs and services that support, retain and graduate African American, Latino American, Asian and Pacific Islander American and Native American (ALANA) students, as well as lesbian, gay, transgender, and bisexual (LGBT) students
We also provide opportunity for all Ithaca College students to increase awareness, understanding, and appreciation of the ALANA and LGBT populations. One way OMA carries out that mission is to provide a limited amount of funding to support programs in keeping with our goals.
In order to manage the large number of requests received for funding, the Office of Multicultural Affairs has developed a new proposal form for requests from departments, individuals, and student organizations. The forms are available online at https://www.ithaca.edu/oma/oma_viewcal.html.
We ask that those requesting funds keep in mind that proposals must be sent to OMA a minimum of three weeks before an event is to occur. Those asking for funds must provide a rationale based on the mission of OMA, as noted above, and a detailed event budget, as well as a list of other funding sources.
