The 2005 Family Weekend will be held November 4 - 6. A full listing of events for the weekend is available on line at www.ithaca.edu/familyweekend/.

We have added a number of exciting events this year including a parent keynote presentation by Sal Paolantonio, ESPN correspondent and father of an Ithaca College senior (9:00 a.m. Saturday, Textor 102), a student organization expo and performances showcase, and a host of family fitness events including a Sunday morning 5K walk-run and the grand opening of the climbing wall in the Fitness Center on Friday afternoon at 3:00 p.m.
Faculty and staff are strongly encouraged to attend. The families of our students are looking forward to meeting the people who their students interact with here at the College.

Please review the schedule of events. Faculty and staff are encouraged to attend as many of the non-ticketed events as you would like. Bring your family as well. (Ticketed events have limited seating that is reserved for the families of our students, although seats may be available at show time.) Students whose parents are not able to attend are also welcome to attend any non-ticketed events.

The Family Weekend luncheon will be on Saturday, November 5, from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. in the Terrace Dining Hall (please note the new location). We welcome and strongly encourage faculty and staff to attend this luncheon. There is no cost to Ithaca College faculty and staff to attend the luncheon. You will be treated to marvelous music provided by the Djemba Ensemble (African drumming troupe), Fifes and Drums of Ithaca, IC Steel Drums, and IC Voices. You will also have the opportunity to get to know the parents of many of our students.

Faculty and staff should RSVP to Suzanne Smith by e-mail at [mailto:sdsmith@ithaca.edu] or by calling 274-3374 before 5:00 p.m., Monday, October 31, if you will be attending the luncheon. Tickets and name tags will be available for you at the check-in table in the Terraces lobby on Saturday.

Our students’ families look forward to your participation throughout Family Weekend 2005.
