The Students for a Just Peace invite you to a free forum with students from Israel and Palestine, who will speak in the Klingenstein Lounge, 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., Monday, October 24, 2005.
The three speakers, who work with the Faculty for Israeli Palestinian Peace (FFIPP), include:
-- Khuood Badawi: a graduate of Haifa University and the former president of the Association of Arab Students in Israeli universities.
-- Yuval Adam: a philosophy student at Tel-Aviv University and leader of The Student Coalition.
-- Mohammad Qetairi: social science student at Birzeit University in Palestine.
These speakers will discuss the Palestinian community in Israel, the students and universities under occupation in the West Bank, and the activism that is currently underway on campuses in Palestine and Israel to end the occupation of troops. They will also talk about the prospects and obstacles for peace in light of the occupation and war.
The Students for a Just Peace is working with FFIPP to provide students and the local community an opportunity to learn about the daily struggles and triumphs of college students in the Middle East. FFIPP is a growing organization of academics endeavoring to achieve a just peace and to end the occupation of Palestinian territory.
