The Ithaca College InterFaith Council welcomes author and guest speaker Cleo Kearns for an upcoming presentation. All are welcome to attend this free event.

On Wednesday, November 2 at 7:00 p.m. in Textor 103 Cleo Kearns is giving a talk entitled "Between East and West: The Double Bind of Monotheism."

Kearns writes and teaches in the fields of theology and literature, and is the author of T.S. Eliot and Indic Traditions (1985), and Our Lady of Paradox: The Virgin Mary and Sacrifice (forthcoming), both from Oxford University Press. She lives in Princeton, New Jersey, and has practiced yoga and meditation since 1975.

Her talk will compare the understanding and practice of breath work in "eastern" and "western" traditions of meditation, raising issues surrounding the deployment of breathing techniques within monotheistic theologies.
