The Office of Human Resources is pleased to announce a new employee appreciation program, “You make a difference!” The purpose of this program is to encourage employees to recognize the contributions their colleagues make here at IC. This is an opportunity for employees to say “thank you,” “well done,” and “I value you as an employee.”
The number of ways to say thank you for doing a “great job” are unlimited, but throughout the month of November, the Office of Human Resources is going to make that a little easier for you. Our office has designed pre-printed appreciation note cards with “You make a difference!” buttons for you to recognize that “job well done” and for employees to proudly display that they “make a difference” here at IC.
Note card and button packets are now available and can be picked up in the Office of Human Resources in Boardman Place or in the Administration Annex. Or you may contact us by phone (274-1207) or email (employment@ithaca.edu) and we’ll be happy to send some out to you. Supervisors are encouraged to promote this program by requesting a supply of note card/button packets for their office in addition to recognizing members of their own staff.
We all experience those moments here at Ithaca when we bump into someone on our way to a meeting or to our next task, or when we witness someone going out of their way to help someone else. We may even say to ourselves, “isn’t that nice,” or “it sure was nice to see ________.” Let’s all take a moment sometime this month to appreciate these moments and the people that make them happen. And if you can spare an extra moment after you’ve let someone know that their efforts are appreciated, please drop us a line at employment@ithaca.edu to share your “thank you” stories about our employees and the difference they are making here every day.
