Lisa Maurer presents on national web seminar

Lisa Maurer was an invited panelist for "Taking it To the Next Level in Tobacco Control for Young Adults: Working With Priority Populations on Campus," a web
seminar that focused on the latest national tobacco control strategies and programs for young adults.

Maurer's presentation focused on the working with lesbian, gay, bisexual & transgender (LGBT) students regarding tobacco smoking cessation and prevention efforts,
and highlighted the Ithaca College LGBT student smoking prevention/cessation program initiated in 2002. Fellow panelists were Dr. David Jolly, Assistant Professor,
Department of Health Education at North Carolina Central University addressing African Americans and tobacco use and strategies Historically Black Colleges and
Universities can do to address tobacco use; and Lisa Fu, Research Coordinator of Asian Pacific Partners for Empowerment and Leadership, addressing youth and
college initiatives for Asian American people, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders.

The web seminar was sponsored by The Bacchus & Gamma Peer Education Network - the nation's largest organization committed to education, training, and support
for peer educators focusing on health and safety issues in higher education- and TobaccofreeU.org.
