TRLS Faculty, Alumni and Students Present at Cortland Recreation Conference

Faculty, alumni, and students from the Department of Theraputic Recreation and Leisure Services offered a variety of presentations on a range of topics related to recreation services at the Cortland Recreation Conference on November 3, 2005.

  • David Ackerson presented "123, ABC, Do Re Mi, LNT" on Leave No Trace environmental principles.
  • Margaret Arnold and recreation management major Carolyn Clarvoe presented "You Know You Want To!", encouraging students to think about becoming a professor.
  • Maureen Baringer presented "You're Invited...!" on event planning.
  • Linda Heyne and SUNY Cortland faculty Lynn Anderson presented "Strength-Based Practice in Therapeutic Recreation: A New Way of Thinking."
  • Norm Pure and therapeutic recreation alum Charles Dorsey presented "Beyond Barriers" on a character enrichment outdoor adventure program for youth at risk.
