The women's swimming and diving team won the New York State Women's Collegiate Athletic Association (NYSWCAA) title for the sixth time in seven years at the state championship meet over the weekend. The Bombers also won the Empire 8 title, which is decided at the state meet, for the seventh straight season.
Ithaca rallied to beat defending state champion Union, who led for the first two-and-ahalf days of the three-day event, winning by just 3.5 points. Veteran coach Paula Miller was named NYSWCAA and Empire 8 Coach of the Year and freshman Lauren Botterbusch (Dallastown/York, Pa.) was named Empire 8 Rookie of the Year.
