Guest saxophonist Wildy Zumwalt will give a free recital at Ithaca College on Tuesday, February 28. The concert will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the Hockett Family Recital Hall in the James J. Whalen Center for Music. With Kathy Hansen collaborating on the piano, Zumwalt will be joined by two of his former saxophone students, Craig Poissant and Jacob Eisenman, who are now graduate students in the Ithaca College School of Music. The program will include works by Hindemith, Wirth, Rorem, and Ibert.

A frequent soloist and clinician appearing throughout the United States, Zumwalt has become a regular performer at meetings of the North American Saxophone Alliance and World Saxophone Congress. He also performs regularly with the Chautauqua Symphony Orchestra, Knoxville Symphony, Western New York Chamber Orchestra, and New Sousa Band. In addition, he has been heard on numerous radio broadcasts including National Public Radio's "Performance Today."

Zumwalt is currently an associate professor of saxophone at the State University College of New York at Fredonia, where he teaches a class of over 20 saxophone majors and conducts the Fredonia Saxophone Ensemble.

The Ithaca College School of Music offers some 300 free concerts each academic year. More information on these performances is available by calling (607) 274-3717 or visiting www.ithaca.edu/concerts.
