The Center for Faculty Excellence is pleased to announce the May Institute, May 22-26. Designed as a course whose subject matter is the implementation of the recommendations of the Core Experience process, the institute is open to all faculty and staff. Participants will work on assignments that relate the initiatives to their own courses or professional goals, and they will assemble an ePortfolio as students might.
The nine-session course will be taught by more than 20 Ithaca College faculty and staff, and each session will include learning experiences, assignments, and time to complete the assignments. Provost Peter Bardaglio will join the Institute on Monday, May 22, to view and discuss the film Declining by Degrees.
Most participants will attend all of the sessions, but one can register for one or more sessions individually. Lunch and morning and afternoon refreshments will be provided.
A preliminary program can be downloaded as a pdf at https://www.ithaca.edu/cfe/SummerInstitute06_ImplementingTheMission.pdf.
Additional detail will be announced on Intercom and at the Center for Faculty Excellence, at https://www.ithaca.edu/cfe/events_ImplementingTheMissionMay2006.htm.
