Some things haven’t changed much in 300 years: girls talking about guys, guys talking about girls, and girls and guys talking to each other.

George Farquhar captured the singles (and marriage) scene of England in 1707 with his play The Beaux' Stratagem, which served as a transition between the cynicism of Restoration drama and the sentimentality of Georgian drama.

Catch some highlights of his play when the Styles of Acting class performs three scenes from The Beaux' Stratagem on Thursday, March 23, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. in the Clark Theatre of Dillingham Center.

There are only winners in this contest between the sexes.
