A free Ithaca College Jazz Workshop concert will take place on Friday, April 7, at 8:15 p.m. in Ford Hall. The performance will be led by Steve Brown and graduate assistant Keaton Akins. Pianist Frank Puzzullo will be the featured soloist, and the Vocal Jazz Ensemble will also make a guest appearance.
Frank Puzzullo teaches music education in jazz studies at Ball State University. He also performs nationally, and his most recent CD is “The Frank Puzzullo Trio.” Since 2001 he has performed a regular weekly jazz series in Muncie, IN. He has appeared for 23 years at the New Orleans Jazz Festival, and performed with many legends of jazz, including Chuck Mangione, Ellis Marsalis, Al Hirt, and Dizzy Gillespie. The concert will feature music of Ray Brown, Bill Mays, Bill Evans, Herbie Hancock, and others.
