Daniel Breen, Department of English, presents a scholarly colloquium on Tuesday, April 18, from 12:10 to 1:00 p.m., in the Clark Lounge of the Campus Center. This presentation argues that the representations of historians in poetic texts contribute significantly to the conceptualization of the historian's social role in late medieval and early modern England.

Other upcoming colloquia include:

"Distance Learning: Ourselves as Students and Teachers" A Conversation with Colleagues
Thursday April 13, 12:10 to 1:00 p.m., Clark Lounge
Six faculty members analyze their experiences with distance learning programs as doctoral students and as faculty members.

"Learning Portfolios and Course Transformation" A Conversation with Colleagues
Thursday, April 20, 12:10 to 1:00 p.m., Clark Lounge
Michael Smith, history, and Stacia Zabusky, anthropology
Inspired by the 2005 Summer Institute and other sources, two faculty members introduced learning portfolios in fall 2005. This presentation includes their own experiences and those of their students.

Colloquia are open to all, and coffee and treats are provided. You are welcome to bring your lunch.
