It is with a great deal of sadness that I inform the campus community that faculty member Mark Alderman, clinical assistant professor of exercise and sport sciences, fell suddenly ill while on campus Tuesday afternoon and passed away. A skilled educator and practitioner, Mark served as an athletic trainer for the College’s sports teams.
We extend our deepest sympathies to Mark’s wife, Gayle, and his children Brianne, a sophomore at the College; Kelsey; Ethan; and Tessa. Our thoughts and prayers are also with Mark’s colleagues on the faculty and staff, his students and student-athletes, and his many friends on campus and in the community.
Among his professional activities, Mark had served the College as a faculty justice and on the athletic director search committee, and was treasurer of the New York State Athletic Trainers Association. He volunteered his time serving local youth and was an active member of the Bethel Grove Bible Church.
We will provide information on services when they are announced.
