Ithaca College is pleased to announce the implementation of a number of new laundry systems for the start of the 2006-2007 academic year. These new systems were installed as the result of student feedback, a desire to support Ithaca College’s sustainability goals, and as a effort to provide better all around service. A task force from many offices worked on the laundry project for over three years and was made up of Robert Mudge (Purchasing), Fernando Gualtieri (ID Office), Zach Newswanger (Residential Life) and David Prunty (Campus Life Services). The laundry changes include:

New washers and dryers – Through negotiations with the Mac Gray laundry company, all washers and dryers on campus have been upgraded to new, high efficiency machines. With sustainability a high priority on campus, these new machines bring many positive changes, including:

Laundry View – A new technology that allows students to view the status of washers and
dryers from a web page. Students are able to utilize Laundry View to see the status of
washers and dryers and to have messages sent to them when machines become available, or
when their personal washing or drying loads are finished.

Laundry Links - Allows students to directly report maintenance issues to Mac-Gray via a
web site. The request is then immediately dispatched to a technician for faster response
times. The Laundry Links technology will allow for faster reporting of problems, and give
immediate feedback to the person(s) reporting the maintenance issue.
